Drawing → 3D model

Send a scan or PDF of a part drawing — get a STEP 3D model, model views side by side with your drawing, a table checking every dimension, and a list of places the scan doesn't allow to read unambiguously.

Send for a test
What you get
  • STEP model: a single solid that opens in SolidWorks, Inventor, Fusion and other CAD
  • Model views and sections next to your drawing — checked in minutes
  • Verification table: every dimension “drawing → model”, model mass vs title block
  • List of assumptions: threads, tolerances, surface finish, uncertain readings
Honest limits
  • Threads are modelled as tap-drill holes and noted in the report; tolerances and finish don't transfer into STEP
  • STEP has no feature tree — dimensions can't be edited parametrically
  • Final acceptance is done by your engineer; we give them everything to check quickly
  • Not yet tested: gears and splines, sheet metal, complex castings, assembly drawings

Cases

Open-source drawings: a lathe repair-drawing album and textbook drawings. We never publish client drawings.

Nut 16K20.040.013 — poor factory scan

Nut 16K20.040.013 — poor factory scan

  • 806×635 px scan from a lathe repair-drawing album
  • Model mass 0.507 kg vs 0.5 kg in the title block: the volume is right
  • ~4 minutes from scan to STEP
  • Tr22×5 LH thread — tap-drill hole plus a note in the report
Housing — three views, sections, threads

Housing — three views, sections, threads

  • Textbook working drawing of a housing
  • 3 views, main section, M28×2 and M16 threads
  • ~4 minutes from drawing to STEP
  • Ribs that are not hatched by the drafting standard are listed as assumptions
Bushing 16K20P.050.020 — 535×297 px scan

Bushing 16K20P.050.020 — 535×297 px scan

  • An almost unreadable source
  • Mass 0.133 kg vs 0.14 kg in the title block (rounded)
  • One spot the scan didn't show clearly came back as a question with a crop
  • ~2 minutes from scan to STEP

FAQ

Where do our files go?

Processing runs on the Claude model (Anthropic, USA). If your drawings can't leave your jurisdiction, tell us first and we'll discuss options.

Who is responsible for the result?

We are responsible for every dimension being checked and every ambiguity being listed. Final acceptance is done by your engineer.

What does it cost?

The pilot and test runs are free for now. We quote a price after the test, once your volumes and part types are clear.

Pilot

Send us 2–3 of your drawings

Ideally different ones: a simple part, a complex housing, a poor scan. You get models and verification reports — and decide whether it helps.

The pilot and test runs are free for now. In the pilot part of the work is done by an operator, so results usually arrive within a couple of hours. In the final version the system will do everything in minutes.
